We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Allen. He was a great co-worker and friend, always brining a warm smile to greet everyone. He will truly be missed. The world is a little sadder without him in it.

I met Allen when we worked at FHWA and later on at FAA.  Although we didn’t work in the same area, we did see each other after hours at Howard Johnson in Crystal City and other fun places.  Allen was a great guy and I have very fond memories of my times with him.

When I think of Allen, I see that recurring smile and a sort of giggle that always seemed right below the surface. 

Allen was probably our first friend at the FAA.  He was working for John Dupree in Contracts when I joined the team.  (Bill and I were newly weds at the time and are about to celebrate our 40th anniversary, so you understand how long ago that was.)  

 Allen would organized a ski trip to Colorado every year.  As a result, we made one of our best and longest standing friends, Ann and Paul Rosenwald.  (This was before they were married.). We also played soft ball on the LG team with Allen.  I was terrible and, therefore earned the rank of scorekeeper and 3rd string catcher.  However, Bill was a stellar player and we often reminisce that I only became a permanent employee of the FAA because of Bill’s contributions to the team.

Allen  had a Brittany spaniel at the same time we had an English Cocker.  We once tried to mate them but that was our least successful venture together.  Bill and Allen would fish so each referred to the other as Captain.

Although we have not kept in touch, we have many found memories of times with Allen.  We cannot quite comprehend that he has passed.

I worked with Allen for many years at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).  He was a dedicated worker and also as a friend I knew both he and Sharon.  Allen really touched my heart as he was loyal to the FAA and a joy to be around.  This makes me sad.

My deepest condolences to the Hill Family and Friends. I knew Allen and his late wife Sharon from working with them both. He was a kind and thoughtful person. This is sad news.
