Thomas E. Smith, age 75, of Fall River, passed away Friday, August 22, 2014 at Charlton Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Judith A. (Francisco) Smith who passed away on July 29, 2014.
Born in Fall River, a son of the late William Smith Sr. and Winifred (Leonard) Smith, he was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mr. Smith worked as a Supervisor at Plymouth Rubber in Canton and as a color matcher at Borden and Remington for many years.
A communicant of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, he ran retreats, the C.Y.O. and Youth Groups. He was a member or the Corky Row Club. An outdoors man, he enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and the beach.
He is survived by three children: Glenn Smith and his wife Jenn of Assonet, Carolynn Smith of Fall River, Darrin Smith and his wife Adriana of Westport, three grandchildren, Kylie, Marissa, and Dylan, mother-in-law: Caroline Francisco of Fall River, and many nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late William, Rose, Winifred, and Eileen.
His Funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 9:30AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in Holy Cross Chapel, 47 Pulaski St., Fall River. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Contributions in his honor may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Burial private.
