Thomas D. Conlon III of Fall River, MA, passed away Wednesday, March 01, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. It was his 66th birthday. He was the husband of Katherine B. (Hurley) Conlon to whom he had been married for the past 40 years.
Born in Fall River, a son of the late Thomas D. Conlon Jr. and Eileen (Giblin) Conlon, he was a lifelong resident of the city.
A graduate of Coyle High School, he received his degree in electrical engineering from the Franklin Institute in Boston and was a veteran of the United States Army.
Tom was a master electrician and proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, local 223. His nearly 50-year career took him from downtown Fall River, to Boston’s Big Dig, to Europe, Africa, and beyond.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons; Thomas D. Conlon IV and his wife Elizabeth Daigle-Conlon of New York City, Kevin P. Conlon of Atlanta, GA, one daughter; Brigid K. Conlon of Providence, RI, seven sisters; Mary Beth Boyd of Fairhaven, MA, JoAnne Conlon of Maui, HI, Barbara Conlon of Dartmouth, MA, Cynthia Conlon of Madison, CT, Eileen Conlon of Ottawa Hills, OH, Cathleen Parker of Martha’s Vineyard, MA, Kelly Sleight of Dartmouth, MA, two granddaughters; Quinn and Olive Conlon of New York City and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mark J. Conlon.
His funeral will be held Monday, March 6, 2017 at 8:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a funeral Mass at 9:00AM at Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Visiting hours Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his honor may be made to the Veterans Association of Bristol County, 755 Pine St., Fall River, MA 02720. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
