Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Alessandrina (Maddaleno) Petrillo, she was a lifelong resident of the city.
A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1945, she worked in the cafeteria at Durfee for over twenty years retiring in 2001. Prior to that, Terry worked as a seamstress for Fall River Manufacturing for many years.
A devout catholic, she was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church where she was a charter member of their women’s guild and past president. She was the recipient of the Marian Medal awarded to her by Bishop Cronin in 1990. She was the oldest member of the Loggia Vittorio Veneto, #1035, Sons of Italy in America and a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union.
She is survived by one son, Joseph Petrucci of Fall River; nieces, Ann and Betty Ann Petrillo, Barbara Nogueira, and Nancy Petrillo; nephews, Billy and Michael Petrillo; great nieces and nephews, Robbie, Marc, Jeff, Emma and Hadley Fitton and Lisa Cousineau. Theresa was the sister of the late Antoinette Costa, Jessie Staibano, Mary Cosmos, Salvatore and Adolph Petrillo, and aunt of the late Captain Bob Petrillo, Patty and Mickey Petrillo and Gianna Barlow.
Her visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 9:00 to 10:00AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 1335 North Main St., Fall River. Relatives and friends invited. Contributions in her honor may be made to the Fly Foundation, P.O. Box 2528, Fall River, MA 02720. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
