Stephen F. Botelho

Stephen F. Botelho, age 77, of Fall River, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at his residence. He was the husband of Nancy A. (Stafford) Botelho to whom he has been married for the past 53 years.

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Francis and Mary “Sarah” (Soares) Botelho, he lived in Tiverton for many years before returning to Fall River in 2000.

A graduate of De La Salle, Class of 1964, he attended Stonehill College. Mr. Botelho worked as a Piper at the former I.C.I. now Zeneca in Dighton for many years, prior to retiring from the maintenance department at Our Lady’s Haven of Fairhaven in 2008. Stephen enjoyed traveling, fishing and spending time at the beach.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Joseph T. Botelho; his aunt, Dorothy Soares of Fall River; cousins, Jackie and Scott Hutzal. He was the brother of the late Pauline Furtado and Godson and nephew of the late Joseph Soares.

Private services are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, Fall River. Contributions in his honor may be made to the Salvation Army, 290 Bedford St., Fall River, MA 02720.
