Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Edmond and Florence (Collard) Doucet.
Robert was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. He was part of the first crew to man the USS Santa Barbara (AE-28), becoming a plank owner. He worked in maintenance for over thirty years with McDonald’s restaurants before moving onto Rob Roy Academy in Fall River where he worked for ten years before retiring in 2015.
Robert was always into the latest technology and showed skills as a DJ using his endless record collection. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and bowling with his best friend, Scott. He was a kind-hearted soul who would assist anyone in need.
Survivors include his brother, Victor R. Doucet of Fall River; his nieces and nephews: Jaime Tessier and her husband Joshua of Pascoag, RI, Jessica Doucet of Somerset, Nathan Tessier of Pascoag, RI, Evan Tessier of Pascoag, RI and Cameryn Doucet of Somerset.
His visitation will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 11:00AM-1:00PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by his funeral service at 1:00PM in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial private.
