Peter F. O'Connell

Peter F. O’Connell, age 82, of Tiverton, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Pauline E. (Galland) O’Connell to whom he was married for 60 years.

Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late P. Frank and Helen L. (Rodgers) O’Connell.

An avid fisherman, Peter was proud to have received his Captain’s license. He was a communicant of St. Christopher’s Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was the former President of the Parish Council.

Besides his devoted wife, Peter is survived by three children, Peter F. O’Connell and his wife Kathleen of Portsmouth, Daniel O’Connell of Marion and Katherine O’Connell of Tiverton: one brother, Charles E. O’Connell and his wife Lori of Tiverton as well as his nephew and godson, Charles O’Connell, Jr., his wife Sarah and their son Silas of Brooklyn, NY. Peter was the brother of the late Margaret A. O’Connell.

His Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 10:00AM in St. Christopher’s Church, 1554 Main Road, Tiverton, RI. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River. Contributions in Peter’s honor may be made to the Neely House at Tufts Medical Center, 800 Washington St., Boston, MA 02118. Burial in Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton, RI.
