Pauline L. (Turcotte) Rogers, age 64, of Fall River, formerly of Somerset, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014 at her residence. She was the wife of James E. Rogers to whom she had been married for 16 years.
Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Normand E. and Frances (Peloquin) Turcotte, Mrs. Rogers was a 1967 graduate of Somerset High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Anna Maria College in Elementary Education.
Mrs. Rogers was employed as a Teacher for the John E. Boyd Centers in Fall River for over 25 years. She was an accomplished painter, seamstress and cook and was a member of the Tiverton Yacht Club where she devoted her time to youth activities. Along with her husband Jim, Pauline was active in the Fall River Scholarship Foundation and the St. Jude Bike-a-thon.
During her life, she showed compassion and understanding for the least of her brothers and sisters. She enjoyed nature, traveling and weekly rides to Cape Cod and surrounding areas. Wherever she went, she made friends.
Surviving in addition to her husband is her daughter; Dr. Rebecca F. Turcotte of New York, NY and a sister; Susan Wick and her husband Rodney of Lincoln, NE and several cousins.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 8:30AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St., Fall River followed by her Funeral Mass at 10AM in St. Louis de France Church, 56 Buffington St., Swansea. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5PM to 8PM. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Fall River.
