Patricia A. “Pat” Carey, age 69, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 30, 2023 at her residence. Born in Fall River a daughter of the late John C. and Corinne H. (O’Neil) Carey, she was a lifelong resident of the city.
A graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, Class of 1973, she worked for Stop and Shop in many different positions for 22 years. A communicant of Holy Name Church, she was a member of their choir. A sports enthusiast, Pat was a devoted fan of the Boston Bruins, New England Patriots, Boston Celtics and the Boston Red Sox. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, bowling with the Somerset Bowling League and watching game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune. Pat was so pleased to be a part of her Westport Associates family.
She is survived by her four brothers, John C. “Jack” Carey and his wife Sharon of Fall River, E. Michael Carey of Swansea, James J. Carey and his wife Kathleen of Fall River and Paul T. Carey and his wife Cathy of Swansea; two step-sisters, Deborah Farias and Veronica Cabral, friend, Michelle Vega, friend and devoted caregiver, Helen Byrne and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William T. Carey, step-daughter of the late Anna M. Carey and step-sister of the late Joann Jones.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 10:00AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover Street, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4pm to 7pm. Contributions in her honor may be made to Westport Associates, Inc., PO Box N565, Westport, MA 02790.
