Born in Santo Antonio, Alem Capelas, Sao Miguel, Acores, a son of the late Antonio and Maria dos Santos (Viveiros) Amaral, he immigrated to the United States in 1968 and was a longtime resident of Fall River.
A skilled carpenter, he worked at Homeland Builders for over 20 years and enjoyed woodworking in his free time; building furniture among many other things. A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and the many camping trips he took with his family. He adored his family, especially time spent with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Ashley Rego and her husband Justin and Felicia Rego and her husband Andrew; one son, Nicholas Amaral and his significant other Jessica Farrow; six grandchildren, Jameson Rego, Faith Rego, Devin Rego, Sean Rego, Noel Amaral and Mia Amaral; ten siblings, Maria dos Santos Oliveira, Ursulina Melo, Carlos Amaral, Joao Amaral, Odelila Tavares, Lucy Benfeito, Helena Texeira, Delores Camara, Jose Amaral, Arthur Amaral and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Maria Teresa Costa and Antonio Amaral.
His Funeral will be held Monday, December 5, 2022 at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 1335 North Main Street, Fall River. Visiting hours are Sunday from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
