Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Stansfield) Stone, she was a lifelong resident of the city. She was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church
A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1957, she worked as a Cashier in several retail stores in the area before retiring in 1993. She also volunteered at Jerry’s Place, was as avid reader and enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
She is survived by three sons, Gerald T. Lawton of Fall River, Michael J. Lawton of Acushnet, Christopher G. Lawton of Fall River; five brothers, Robert, Kenneth, Douglas, Geoffrey, and Daniel Stone; three sisters, Judith Alston, Jane Conti, and Brenda Anacleto, two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She the sister of the late Thomas Stone.
Private services are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place, Fall River. Contributions in her honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
