Nancy J. (Simons) Kenyon, age 80 of Fall River, passed away Friday, January 14, 2011 at Rhode Island Hospital, due to complications resulting from the Slade Street tenement fire on December 21st. She was the wife of the late Norman H. Kenyon.
Born in Somerset, a daughter of the late John and Lillian (Lynch) Simons, she spent her youth in the area, lived in San Francisco, California, returning back to Fall River 25 years ago.
Mrs. Kenyon was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked for Gimbles Candy in California, for many years and at the former Elbe File in Fall River. She was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church in San Francisco and a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Fall River.
Surviving is son, Stephen N. Kenyon of Fall River, daughter, Susan N. Kenyon of Brisbane, CA, grandson, Stephen N. Kenyon II, two great-grandchildren Dakota R. and Jada R. Godek, four sisters, one brother and many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE 178 Winter St. Fall River. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-8PM. Burial will be private.
