Born in Fall River a daughter of the late J. Normand and Colombe (Paquette) Michel she was a longtime resident of New Bedford.
A graduate of Dominican Academy, Class of 1969, she earned an Associate’s degree in Business from Bristol Community College. Skilled at baking, she also enjoyed tending to her garden. A loving and devoted caretaker, she was “Memere” to all and cherished her family, friends and neighbors.
She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Pontes and her partner Charles Fox of Fall River; one son, Brian Pontes and his wife Rebecca of Springfield; one sister, Yvonne Cote and her husband Roland; two brothers, Maurice Michel and his wife Paula and Claude Michel; three grandchildren, Maya Fox, Samuel Fox and Emily Pontes; many nieces and nephews and many Chumack in-laws throughout the New Bedford area. She was the sister-in-law of the late Judy Michel.
Her visitation will be Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River. Burial will be private. Contributions in her honor may be made to Southcoast VNA, 200 Mill Road, Fairhaven, MA 02719.
