Michael R. Ferris

Michael R. Ferris, “Mikey,” age 24, of Fall River, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Born in Fall River, he was the son of Dale A. (Parker) Ferris of Fall River and the late Ronald J. "Ronnie" Ferris, the former owner and operator of the Venus de Milo Restaurant in Swansea. He was a lifelong resident of Fall River.

A graduate of St. Andrews School in Barrington, class of 2006, he attended Merrimack College and UMASS Dartmouth. He worked at the Venus de Milo Restaurant the family business for many years. He enjoyed skiing, golfing, and playing tennis, basketball, and lacrosse. Michael loved the beach and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister; Marissa A. Ferris of Fall River, his grandfather; Gilbert Parker of North Providence, his aunts and uncles; Donna Allard and her husband Arthur and John Parker all of Somerset, Sharon Howard and her husband Charles of Greenville, SC., and Monte Ferris of Somerset, his God parents; Susan Lavoie of Fall River and Roger Storey of Swansea, and many cousins. He was grandson of the late Monsour J. “Monnie” and May (Sarkees) Ferris and Margaret (Lockett) Parker.

His Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday April 16, 2013 at 10:00AM in St. Anthony of the Desert Church, 300 North Eastern Avenue, Fall River. Arrangements are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place. Contributions in his honor may be made to the Thomas Chew Memorial Boys and Girls Club, P.O.
