Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Fontain) Wood.
Mary worked for Santoro Manufacturing for 25 years before her retirement in 1988. She was an avid bowler, and loving doing yard work, shopping, decorating her home, coloring and above all else, playing Parcheesi with her daughter and granddaughters.
She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Martin of Westport and three grandchildren, Charles, Anna and Amanda Martin as well as several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by three siblings, Arthur, her twin sister, Mary and Jean.
Her Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River. Entombment will take place in Notre Dame Mausoleum, Fall River. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
