Born in Fall River, son of the late Michel and Jennie (Ameen) Nassiff, he was a 1972 graduate of BMC Durfee High School where he played football. Upon graduating from Durfee, he went on to play for the Attleboro Kings Football Team.
Mark was a longtime employee of the former Fall River Gas Company, now Liberty Utilities, for over 25 years until his retirement in 2022. Prior to his work at Liberty, he traveled the world working for ODECO, an offshore oil drilling company. Born with a passion for the water, he could always be found boating with his family and friends and avidly fishing off the islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Cuttyhunk as well as the Cape Cod Canal. A corvette fanatic, he looked forward to summer cruise nights at Gillette Stadium and annual trips to Barrett-Jackson car auctions. He was a member of the Lebanon American Society and the Fall River Rod & Gun Club. A fitness and sports enthusiast, Mark loved going to the gym daily, running the annual Guinta race, playing pickleball and attending countless Patriot games with friends. Never shy to ask for seconds, he had an endless appetite for all things food. But his greatest joy was spending time with his son and watching his granddaughters’ sporting events. Endearingly called “Giddo” by Julianna and Marielle he beamed with pride from the sideline.
He is survived by his son Mark Nassiff Jr and his wife Ann of Fall River; granddaughters Julianna and Marielle Nassiff; sisters Clarissa Gonsalves of Fall River and Michele Whritenour of Bourne; his companion Diane Fiore of Fall River and his former wife Ellen Nassiff also of Fall River and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
His Visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River.
