Maria C. (Cabral) Paiva, age 73, of Fall River, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019 at St. Anne’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Manuel De Paiva to whom she has been married for the past 49 years.
Born in Capelas, Sao Miguel, Acores, a daughter of the late Alfredo and Maria Gilberta (Medeiros) Cabral, she immigrated to the United Sates in January of 1971 and has been a resident of the city since then.
An avid shopper with a generous heart, she loved to buy for others. A nurturing woman she was always ready to prepare a meal for her family and she especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren. She was an active communicant of Santo Christo Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Susan Medeiros and her husband Jose of Fall River and Wendy Viveiros and her husband Aniceto of Fall River; two brothers Jose deCabral and his wife Margarida, Manuel Cabral; one sister, Mary Germana DaCosta and her husband Jose all of Fall River, four grandchildren, Isaac Medeiros, Jordan Viveiros, Olivia Medeiros and Ethan Viveiros and many nieces and nephews.
Her services are private and are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place.
