Lillian (Russell) Duckworth, age 95, formerly of Dartmouth, passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 in the John Clarke Nursing Home in Middletown, Rhode Island. She was the wife of the late Frank Duckworth.
Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Frances (Gray) Russell, she was a resident of Dartmouth for over forty years.
Mrs. Duckworth graduated from New Bedford Vocational High School at the top of her class. She worked at the Acushnet Company before retiring in 1969. She was a dedicated volunteer for the Market Ministries at the South Dartmouth Congregational Church.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, an excellent cook and a talented seamstress. She was an avid bowler into her mid-80s.
She is survived by two sons; Clifford R. Duckworth of Dartmouth, and Jeffrey S. Duckworth and his wife Christine of Northampton, MA, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Ellsworth, Marion (Gray), Charles, Clifford, Elliott and Cynthia (Houston) Russell.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family Thursday, February 16, 2012 at noon at the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St., Fall River. Graveside service will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River.
