

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Manuel M. and Maria (Affonso) Souza, he attended BMC Durfee High School and earned his Associates Degree from BCC in Fire Service.
He served as a Firefighter for the Fall River Fire Department for over 30 years, and was Captain in Fire Prevention for 20 of those years, retiring in 1982. A United States Air Corps Veteran, he served as Flight Officer and Bombardier during World War II.
A Life Member of the Fall River Elks, Lodge #118, he was also a member of the Fall River and Massachusetts Retried Fire Fighters Associations.
He is survived by his daughter: Carol Ann Angelini and her husband Dennis of Barrington, RI, two grandsons: Bradford and Michael Angelini, five great grandchildren: Megan, Brandon, Sofia, Alexander and Graciana Angelini and several nieces and nephews. He was also the grandfather of the late Krista Angelini and brother of the late Augustine and Manuel Souza.
His funeral will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 9AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St. Fall River with his funeral mass at 10AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St. Fall River. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7PM. Contributions in his honor may be made to: Special Olympics of RI, 370 George Washington Hwy., #1, Smithfield, RI 02917. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
