Born in Augusta, ME, a son of the late Raymond and Marguerite (Waterman) Rideout, spending his youth in Maine. James was a longtime area resident. He was employed at the State Line Pier, Fall River, he attended Crystal Springs where he was cared for by the owner, Eunice Brayton. He had a very close relationship with Eunice as well as his schoolmate, the late Tom Burke. They were family in the truest sense. Jimmy and Eunice always stayed in contact after her move to Florida. He enjoyed to traveling, attended Community Connections and the ION’s program. James also enjoyed the company of his friends and Staff at People, Inc and the Community Connectios.
Jimmy was also a great self-advocate and advocate for others. He was involved with politics and campaigned for local politicians. He also enjoyed staying current on what was going locally and beyond by watching the news and reading the newspaper. He had a long, close relationship with Eric, his neighbor. He had a wonderful relationship with his former employer Diane at the State Pier as well as his colleagues there as well, where he worked for many years. He enjoyed walking throughout his local community and attending events including parades, festivals, gatherings and didn’t miss an opportunity to do so. He was well known in his community. He was a true friend to many.
James was the brother of the late David, Karen and Ann Rideout.
