James P. Price

On Sunday, May 16, 2021, James Paul Price, husband of the late beloved Michaeline Mary (Ruttle) Price and father of the devoted Seth Adam Price, passed away at the age of seventy-three. He is survived by his sister Colleen Price-Herring of Little Compton, RI. He was the brother to the late John, Elizabeth and Nan. Godfather to the late Jeffrey Rys and Stephen Price, survived by a godson Raymond Dolber and many nieces and nephews.

James was born on September 30, 1947 in Fall River, MA, to the late John H. Price III, and Rita Elizabeth (Smith) Price. He graduated from BMC Durfee High School in 1966. James worked for New England Telephone and Verizon for thirty-one years until he retired in 2002.

A lifelong communicant of Sacred Heart Church until it closed, James was a compassionate and faithful volunteer at many local soup kitchens in the city. Along with volunteering, James had a passion for animals. Owner of Brandy-Wine Kennels, he raised Golden Retrievers. James had a reputation of giving dogs as gifts to family and friends. No gift was more special than the adorable French Bulldog, Rosie, which James presented to his loyal son, Seth, in 2018.

James’s best role as a person, was being a husband and father. That was his greatest success in life. James will be in his family and friends hearts forever.

His Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 10am in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Spring St., Fall River. His Visitation will be Friday morning from 8:15am to 9:15am in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River. Burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Fall River.
