Born in Fall River, the son of the late Francesco and Emilia (DeChellis) Ramunno, he was a lifelong resident and communicant of Holy Rosary Church.
In 1951, he formed Redi Construction which he operated for over 50 years. Prior to that he was owner and operator of Waterman Avenue Bakery in Providence. A United States Army Veteran, he served during World War II. He was a member of Loggia Vittorio Veneto #1035, the Knights of Columbus, and Sons of Italy in America.
Surviving: daughter, Carol A. Rogers and her husband Harry of Tiverton, RI; two sons, Paul E. Ramunno and his wife Diane of Fall River and David R. Ramunno and his wife Donna of Westport; a sister, Edith Stockus of Fall River; six grandchildren, David Rogers and his wife Liz, Carrie Yaccarino and her husband Dan, Elisabeth, Angela, Kate and Jacob Ramunno. He was the brother of the late Fausto, Mario, Raymond, Bruno, Maria and Alduina Ramunno. As “Pepere” left this earth his first great grandchild has arrived!
His funeral will be Tuesday March 1, 2011 at 9AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River followed by a funeral mass at 10AM in Holy Rosary Church, 120 Beattie St., Fall River. Visiting hours Monday 4-7 PM. Entombment in Notre Dame Mausoleum, Fall River.
