Grace A. Keefe-Medeiros, age 57, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, December 1, 2022 comforted by her family. She was the loving wife of Jennifer Medeiros. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Anne (Luddy) and Joseph Keefe Jr.
A graduate of BMC Durfee High School, Class of 1983, she went on to work for Verizon for 30 years before retiring. In her retirement, she was a Residential Counselor for St. Vincent Services for the past six years.
At the age of 34, Grace met the love of her life, her wife Jennifer, and embarked on a beautiful life together for the next 23 years.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Grace. She loved a quiet evening with family watching Wheel of Fortune; the tradition of playing cards and games at the holiday gatherings; vacationing in Miami with special friends; sending out her good morning texts; having her morning coffee with Betsy; taking her walks around the neighborhood; getting the mail every day as it was her job; watching College Game Day on Saturday mornings rooting on the Georgia Bull Dogs; cheering on the Patriots every Sunday and yelling about making the wrong picks in her football pool; the yearly family 4th of July vacation in Truro and Provincetown; beach trips and swimming; overnight getaways to the casino playing her favorite slot machines and bingo; most importantly just being with her love, Jen.
She always surrounded herself with her friends and family, which is where she felt most comfortable and loved. Her smile and personality was contagious to everyone she met. Grace touched the lives of so many people. She will truly be missed and will never, ever, be forgotten.
Everyone who knew Grace felt her big heart and giving nature. The family asks that any donations be made in Grace’s honor to the Allyson Marie Aucoin Vet Tech Memorial. Grace followed Allyson along her journey with Ovarian cancer until her passing at the age of 24.
The family would like to thank all of our family and friends for their love, support, and prayers for Grace during her journey with ovarian cancer. We especially would like to thank her VNA nurse, Rachel. Rachel went above and beyond for our Grace and we will forever be indebted to her. The bond they shared was extraordinary.
In addition to her wife, she is survived by her brother, Joseph Keefe III and his wife Ashley of Fairhaven; sister-in-law, Betsy Medeiros; mother and father-in-law, Raymond and Eleanor Medeiros; brother-in-law Douglas Medeiros and his wife Karen; nieces Katelyn, Brenna, Julia, and Catherine; nephew, Joseph IV; great niece, Peyton, many cousins especially Alison whom Grace thought of as her sister; her aunt and uncle Nancy and John Luddy; her two cats - George and Pippa and her dog Simmy.
