Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Kenneth C. and Albertina (Franco) Fillion and brother of the Paul Fillion. He was a lifelong resident of the city.
A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1965, he earned an Associate’s degree in Business from Fisher Junior College and attended the University of Maryland for Accounting. A proud Veteran of the United States Air Force, he served during the Vietnam War. Jerry managed the commissary store on the Newport Naval Base, was the head of maintenance at First Federal Bank for 13 years, a custodian for the Freetown-Lakeville Public School System for 12 years and most recently a driver for Advanced Auto Parts.
An active man he enjoyed snow shoeing, sports and traveling as much as possible.
In addition to his companion, he is survived by his uncle, Frederick Fillion and his wife Elaine; nephew, Justin Fillion and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 10:00 am in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Contributions in his honor may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave, SW120, Boston, MA 02215.
