Born in Fall River, a son of the late John S. Jr., and Ruth E. (Elder) Baker, he was a life-long resident of the area.
A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1967, he later went to RI Junior College before enlisting in the United States Air Force. A long-time member of the Fall River Rotary, where he was named the Hometown Hero in 2006. He was also a member of the Tiverton Yacht Club and on the board of the Faxon Animal Rescue League. Eric was an avid sailor, loved skiing, riding motorcycles and driving muscle cars.
Eric was the owner and operator of his own advertising and marketing business for many years before retiring due to his illness.
In addition to his wife survivors include: a brother, John “Jack” S. Baker lll and his wife Angelika of Barrington, RI; a sister, Margaret C. Baker of Harrisville, NH; several nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends.
His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the Church of the Holy Spirit, 160 Rock St., Fall River. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery will be private.
