Born in Fall River, he attended high school at B.M.C. Durfee and remained a lifelong resident of the city. He went onto a career in the Department of Public Works with the City of Fall River where he worked for over 30 years prior to retiring.
Charles enjoyed spending time with his family, taking care of his animals, going to the horse and dog tracks and watching baseball. His favorite teams to watch were the Red Sox and the Phillies.
He is survived by one daughter Melissa Cook; three grandchildren, Thomas Freitas, Jeffrey Freitas, and Derek Cook; and five great grandchildren, David Freitas, Cameron, Blake and Jaxon Cook, and Quinn Marie Freitas. He was the father of the late Chuck and Thomas Estrella; and grandfather of the late David Freitas and Steven Cook.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM in St. Mary’s Cathedral, 327 2nd St, Fall River, followed by a burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 2233 Robeson St, Fall River.
