Sister Antoinette Landry, (Sr. Anne Pauline), SUSC, died at Catholic Memorial Home, Fall River September 13, 2014 at the age of 93. She was born in Chelsea, MA on March 31, 1921, the daughter of the late Francois and Genevieve (Martin) Landry. In addition to her Holy Union Sisters, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews survive her. Her sister, Leona Rowean and brothers F Valery, Paul, J. Burton and Frank predeceased her.
Sister Antoinette graduated from St. Rose High School, Chelsea. She entered the Holy Union Sisters in Fall River, MA on September 10, 1938, and pronounced her final vows on August 1, 1946. She received a B.A. in Elementary Education from Stonehill College.
Sr. Antoinette ministries included teaching, administration and secretarial work. She taught in schools in Baltimore, New York and Fall River. She was principal at St. Francis de Sales School, Patchogue, NY and Sacred Heart School, Fall River. She served as secretary to the Holy Union Sisters personnel board and taught French at the former Sacred Hearts Academy, Fall River. When she left education, she used her secretarial skills as province secretary for over ten years. She also worked part-time at Bishop Connolly High School, Fall River.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 10:30AM in the St. Margaret Mary Chapel at Catholic Memorial Home, 2446 Highland Ave., Fall River. Visiting hours prior to her Mass will be held from 9:30 to 10:00AM followed by a prayer Vigil Service from 10:00 to 10:30AM in the solarium at the Catholic Memorial Home. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River. Donations in Sr. Antoinette’s memory may be made to the
