A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School he earned a bachelor degree in theology from Berkshire Christian College in 1968. He had been the faithful pastor of the Advent Christian Church for the past 48 years and a part-time bus driver for Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School and the Christian School of Greater Fall River.
A president of Heritage Conference of the Advent Christian Church he was also dedicated, throughout his entire life, to the Tremont Advent Christian Camp Meeting Association having been a past President, long-standing Board Member, Camp Director and counselor. Uncle Al was also a Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor for the Boys & Girls Club for many years.
Known to everyone, of all ages, as “Uncle Al” he was a teacher and a mentor to generations. Uncle Al led by example and all that knew him benefitted from his kindness, patience, advice and humor. We will miss the bike rides, the chess games, the swimming lessons, the driving lessons, camping and long conversations. Mostly, we will miss his encouragement and support. He never judged. He lifted us up when we were troubled and he rejoiced when we succeeded. He made the world a better place and he inspired us to do the same. He was the perfect uncle.
