Born in Lisbon, Portugal a son of the late Alberto and Laureana (Pacheco) Pires he was a longtime resident of Fall River.
A graduate of BMC Durfee High School, Class of 1990, he was a talented football player for the Durfee Hilltoppers. A talented musician, he played guitar and sang karaoke at Scottie’s Pub. Alex enjoyed spending time with his friends and being outside, fishing, canoeing, bike riding, kayaking and going to the beach.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Juliana Pires; three sisters, Marisa Moura and her husband Pedro, Elisabeth Rosa and her husband Carlos and Cecilia Pires and her former husband Valentim Ferreira; one brother, Alberto Pires and his wife Cecilia and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
