Born in Fall River, a son of Alan C. and Margaret “Maggy” (Gibbons) Biszko of Tiverton, he spent his youth in Tiverton and had also lived in Boston for seven years. He was a graduate of Bishop Connolly High School, Class of 2000, earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University and also attended Boston University.
An engineer with Biszko Contracting Corporation, he also worked as an estimator for Callahan Construction in Bridgewater and Bowdoin Construction in Boston. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed skiing, snowboarding and fishing and also loved playing poker and craps. Alan was on the board of directors for the Charter Schools of Fall River.
Surviving in addition to his parents: two brothers; Thomas C. Biszko of Fall River, Stephan M. Biszko of Fall River, one sister; Laura C. Biszko of Boston, three uncles; Michael Gibbons and his wife Carol of FL, Lee Gibbons, Jr. of Fall River and Michael Biszko and his wife Pamela of Tiverton, one aunt; Janis Karam and her husband James of Tiverton, paternal grandmother: Anne P. (Malluck) Biszko of Fall River, many cousins and his many friends.
His Funeral will be held Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 8:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St., Fall River , followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover Street, Fall River. Visiting hours Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A cycling team will be riding in Alan’s memory in August to raise money for brain tumor research at Dana Farber.
