Yolanda “Lan” F. Carbajal passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at her residence in Falfurrias, Texas at the age of 74. She was born to Antonio Figueroa and Tomasa Robledo Figueroa in Brooks County, Texas. Yolanda devoted over 26 years of service and care as a Nurse’s Aide. After 1991, she decided to dedicate more time to her family as a loving, selfless and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
She always had a warm and welcoming smile that could make anyone’s day. She enjoyed family gatherings and will fondly be remembered for the remarkable cook she was. Her delicious homemade meals where something she took great pride in and her way of sharing love with everyone she cooked for. Everybody knew they were always welcomed in her home and exactly where to find her, the kitchen. To Yolanda, she considered everyone she adored as "Mijo" or "Mija" and would address them as such.
To friends and neighbors, Lan was very soft spoken, generous and prayed for everyone often and to her family, Wela was a strong woman at heart and powerful in her faith, giving them the reason they believe miracles. With all the challenges she had to overcome, she remained an inspiration and a light. Yolanda has always been and will forever continue to be a true inspiration for the current and future generations in her family.
