SSgt. Gonzalo M. Gonzalez

SSGT, Gonzalo M. Gonzalez, of Hebbronville, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at a hospital in Laredo, Texas at the age of 83. Gonzalo was born on October 7, 1930 to Gonzalo and Olalla Hinojosa Gonzalez in Hebbronville, Texas. Gonzalo was a Civil Professor in the Air Force. Gonzalo was station at several bases, Japan Air Force Base, Laredo Air Force Base, Forbes Air Force Base, Topeka KS, Perrin Air Force Base, Sherman, Texas, Lajes Air force Base, Azores, Bentwater Air Force Base in England and Bergstorm Air Force Base, Austin, Texas. As Gonzalo entered into the gates of Heaven, he was reunited with his parents, brother, Gilberto Gonzalez and step-son, Ferdinaldo “Fred” Farias, Jr. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Emily B. Gonzalez of Hebbronville; sons, Gonzalo M. Gonzalez, Jr. of Canyon Lake, John Gabriel (Laura) Gonzalez of Austin and O.A. Farias of Hebbronville; daughters, Sallie Cooke of Starzville, Texas, Rosie (Joe) of Port Lavaca, Texas and Michelle Rios of Austin; sisters, Raquel Mendieta of Mirando City, Rosanna Garza of Corpus Christi and Rebecca Reynolds of Alice; grandchildren, Jose (Ashley) Padron of Port Lavaca, John-Gregory Padron of Port Lavaca, Tony (Bridget) Gatzert of Copper Cove, Matthew Gonzalez of San Antonio, Addison & Logan Gonzalez of Austin; great-grandchildren, Zayden Stewart and Noah Padron of Port Lavaca; special niece, Patsi B. Prough of North Richland Hills, Texas and many nephews and nieces who will all miss him deeply.

Holy Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Hebbronville.

Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Pallbearers will be Jose Padron, John Gregory Padron, Gonzalo M. Gonzalez, Jr., John Gabriel Gonzalez, Robert Garza and Daniel Mendieta.
