Richard David Salinas entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at a hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 60. He was born on June 12, 1964 to Severo Salinas, Jr. and Santos Deorica Garza Salinas in Falfurrias, Texas. Richard worked many years in the oilfield industry and lastly with TC Trucking.
He enjoyed watching old TV shows and movies, listening to and playing music, fishing, completing puzzles, diamond art and any kind of arts and crafts that would keep him busy. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved spending time with his family, especially getting visits from his nieces and nephews.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Severo and Santos Deorica Salinas Jr.; brother, Jesse Joe Salinas; nephews, Severo Salinas, IV and Isaac Salinas, brother-in-law, Nick Garza, Jr. and sister-in-law, Sylvia Gutierrez.
He is survived by his brothers, Luis R. Salinas of Premont, Texas, Severo (Lupe) Salinas, III of Calallen, Texas, Alfredo (Jamie) Salinas of Gonzalez, Louisiana and Carlos (Yvonne) Salinas of Premont; three sisters, Norma (Nick) Garza of Falfurrias, Nelda Salinas and Diana (Tony) Cantu both of Premont and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Premont with Visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Memorial Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. and services will conclude with Burial at the Premont Cemetery.
