Reyes "Rey" Perez

Reyes “Rey” Perez, 57, of Falfurrias, Texas, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on February 28, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 27, 1958 to Francisco Perez and Raquel Maldonado Perez in Falfurrias, Texas. Rey was a lifelong educator and coach for over 25 years until his retirement. He worked with several different school districts including Santa Rosa, Valley View, Roma, Mission and Raymondville. He was a loving and dedicated father to his sons, but he also had a special place in his heart for his students. He was a dedicated Christian who relied heavily on his faith, which certainly helped him get through the last few years of his life. Rey gave God all the glory for his family and for the many blessings in his life.

Rey was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by his parents, Francisco and Raquel Perez; paternal grandparents, Reyes and Candelaria Perez and his maternal grandparents, Juan M. and Eva G. Maldonado.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his three sons, Joshua Perez of Houston, Texas, Jacob Rey Perez of San Antonio and Joseph Ryan Perez of Fort Worth, Texas; his ex-wife and lifelong friend, Diane A. Puig of Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Maricelda Reyes of Falfurrias, Texas; niece, Veronica (Cosme) Tijerina of Falfurrias; nephew, Victor Perez of Ingleside, Texas and aunts, uncles, great-nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Prayer Service will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 5:00p.m. Private Burial will be held at a later date.
