Rebecca “Becky” G. Vargas passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at a hospital in Alice, Texas at the age of 90. She was born on August 2, 1934 to Cosme Garza, Sr. and Esperanza Rodriguez Garza in Los Olmos, Brooks County, Texas. Becky was a homemaker and for a short period of time, she worked in the kitchen for the local Falfurrias Community Action Center. She loved playing “Chalupa” and dancing. She had a contagious smile and was adored by many.
Becky was reunited in Heaven with her parents; husband, Silviano Vargas, Sr.; sons, Silviano Vargas, Jr. and Silvestre Vargas; grandson, Paul Michael Vargas; brothers, Maximo Garza, Nicolas Garza and Armando Garza; sisters, Estella Saenz, Isabel Vargas and Alicia Hinojosa and her daughter-in-law, Noemi M. Vargas.
Becky will be missed deeply by her son, Epifanio Vargas, Sr. of Premont, Texas; daughter, Jo Ann (Jose R.) Ramirez of Falfurrias, Texas; brothers, Ruben (Lucy) Garza, Ramiro (Elda) Garza, Rene (Gloria) Garza all of Falfurrias and Cosme (Hilda) Garza, Jr. of Concepcion, Texas; sisters, Albesa Salas of Richmond, Texas and Berta (Manuel) Daniel of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren, Epifanio (Denise) Vargas, Jr., Priscilla Marie (Ramiro Gomez) Vargas, Brinda (Mike) Munoz, Jose Ricardo Ramirez, Jr. and Matthew R. (Valerie) Ramirez; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Honoring her as Pallbearers will Epifanio Vargas, Jr., Jose Ricardo Ramirez, Jr., Matthew R. Ramirez, Brandon M. Lopez, Nathanael Chapa, Jose "Trey" Ricardo Ramirez, III and Liam Vargas. Honorary Pallbearers are Mario Vargas and Miguel Munoz, III.
The Funeral Service for Becky will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation to begin at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Brethren Cemetery in Falfurrias.
