Raymundo P. Salazar entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 24, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 88. He was born on July 13, 1936 to Jose Angel Salazar and Maria De La Luz Porras Salazar. Raymundo had a strong Christian faith and was a devoted servant of the Lord.
He was a committed family man and especially enjoyed the company of his great-grandchildren. He worked for many years at WT Construction as a Dispatcher and Supervisor. Raymundo had a passion for carpentry and loved building things. He enjoyed a good bar-b-q and watching the Dallas Cowboys. In his younger years, he excelled in team roping alongside his brother, Jose.
Raymundo was reunited in Heaven with his parents, his wife, Matilde Carbajal Salazar, his son, Raymundo Salazar, Jr., and his two siblings, Jose Angel Salazar, Jr. and Consuelo Herrera.
He is survived by his daughter, Anna L. (Marty) Martinez of Falfurrias, and seven grandchildren: Jose Luis (Anastacia) Gonzales II, Tamara (Cesar) Guerrero, Adrian (Kristin) Gonzales, Martin Martinez Jr., Matthew Salazar, Romeo Salazar, and Marissa B. Martinez. Additionally, he leaves behind ten great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to his caregivers and family friends, Virginia Regalado, Sandra Garza, and Ronnie Munoz, all from Falfurrias. Your unwavering dedication to Raymundo and our family has not gone unnoticed, and it means the world to us during this challenging time. Thank you for your kindness and support. In addition, a special thank you for the care provided by the staff at Gulf Shores Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias with services to conclude with Burial at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
