Raul Ramirez went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Kleberg at the age of 80. Raul was born on November 15,1939 to Raul Ramirez Sr. and Herminia Pena Martinez. Raul was raised by his mother and stepfather Rufino Martinez III in Falfurrias,Texas, where he was a lifelong resident.
Raul was employed as an auto mechanic at Dunn Chevrolet and later as a diesel mechanic in the oilfield industry where he retired after many years. He also worked part-time as a deputy for Sheriff Rep Moore, Sheriff Joe Garza, and Sheriff Ramiro Castellano. He later was elected as Constable Precinct 4 and served his community for 7 years. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Mutualistas, Falfurrias Jaycees, and the Falfurrias Volunteer Fire Department.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather who never missed an opportunity to be at his children and grandchildren's events. He enjoyed spending time with his family and making memories that they will forever hold in their hearts.
As Raul entered the gates of heaven, he reunited with his parents: Raul Ramirez, Herminia and Rufino Martinez; brothers: Rodolfo Rene Martinez, Rene Ramirez, and Luciano "Chano" Ramirez; sister Eva Soliz.
To cherish his memories, he leaves behind his wife, Elena Guerra Ramirez; one son, Jose Raul "J.R." Ramirez (Clarissa) of San Antonio; three daughters: Anna Maria Garcia (Damian), Norma Iris Trevino (the late Omar Trevino Sr.), and Tracie Ramirez (Joseph), all of Falfurrias; thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by six brothers: Rufino Martinez III (Eliza) of Corpus Christi, Rosendo "Chendo" Martinez (Dora) of Falfurrias, Rogelio Martinez (Brenda) of Alice, Raul Ramirez III of Falfurrias, Roel Ramirez (Maggie) of Falfurrias, Roy Norris (Patty) of Laredo; twelve sisters: Irma Lopez (Lalo) of Corpus Christi, Alma Huerta (Adan) of Falfurrias, Dalia Soliz (Arturo) of Corpus Christi, Hermelinda "Linda" Cruz (Sonny) of San Antonio, Diana Carbajal (Jesse) of George West, Nilda Ramirez, Hilda Ramirez, Thelma Ramirez, Sylvia Ramirez, Gloria Arevalo, Mary Castillo, and Rachel Charles, all of Falfurrias; numerous nephews and nieces and his faithful pet buddy Nikko.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Sacred Heart Church in Falfurrias. Interment to follow at Falfurrias Burial Park.
Pallbearers will be OJ Trevino, JR Ramirez Jr., Trey Garcia, Jason Garcia, Gian Trevino, Ben Ramirez, and Jay Villarreal.
