Raul Salinas Garza

Raul Salinas Garza, 86, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at a hospital in Kingsville, Texas. He was born on December 11, 1929 to Arturo Garza, Sr. and Beatriz Salinas Garza in Falfurrias, Texas. Raul proudly served in the United States Army as a PFC Medic during the Korean War. Raul later worked in the Maintenance Department of the Brooks County Hospital until his retirement 38 years later. Throughout his life he worked as a farmer as well. Raul is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Flavio Garza Armando Garza, and Arturo “Arty” Garza, Jr. and his sister, Lydia Canales. He is survived by his loving wife, Avilda Cuellar Garza of Falfurrias; two sons, Raul (Susan) Garza, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas and Robert (Patricia) Garza of Falfurrias, Texas; sister, Juanita (Gus) Garza of Portland, Oregon; four grandchildren, Jessica Garza (Louie)Guerra, Raul (Marissa) Garza, III, Joe Daniel (Rebecca) Garza all of Falfurrias and Joseph Arevalo of Mission, Texas; seven great-grandchildren, Kayla Castellano, Mariah Garza, Joey Garza, , Hailey Garza and Johnathan Garza all of Falfurrias and Abigail and Adam Arevalo of Mission, Texas and many nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias with burial to follow at Los Caballos Cemetery on E. Hwy 285 in Falfurrias.
