Milton Fritz Menking, Jr., was called by the Lord and entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 13, 2024 in Falfurrias, Texas. He was born on August 20, 1947 to Milton Fritz Menking, Sr. and Eleanor Patterson Menking in Laredo, Texas and was blessed with 76 years of life. He worked for many years as South Texas Regional Manager for AEP/Central Power and Light (CPL). He also managed several hunting camps. He worked untiring and unselfishly for many years serving his family and community with leadership and inspiration working with United Way, Rotary, Salvation Army, Paul Harris Fellow and many more, as well as a guest speaker at many different community events and was always there to help others. He served as President of the Chamber of Commerce/Rotary for the City of Falfurrias and other communities.
He was a very loving and caring father, husband, grandpa, son and cared about everyone’s well being. Milton will be missed by many, but even more he leaves behind a lifetime of memories, love, kindness, toughness and skill and when you combine everything he created a legacy that is positively woven into others. He will greatly be missed, but never forgotten, a true powerful legacy.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 56 years, Mary Ellen Menking of Falfurrias; sons, Milton (Melissa) Menking III of Petal, Mississippi and Mark Menking of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter, Marcia Ann (Agapito “Pete”) Trevino of Portland, Texas; sister, Mary Ann Saldana of Laredo, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jennieva Trevino, AJ Trevino, Haley Menking, Lilly Menking, Madilynn Menking, Jeremiah Christian James Trevino and Josiah Valentine Ezra Trevino and many extended family members.
Milton was reunited in Heaven with his parents and his infant granddaughter, Madison Eleanor Menking.
Services will be held at New Covenant Church,110 Magnolia Heights Falfurrias Texas 78355 on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 3:30pm.
