Mario Chavera passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016 at a hospital in Alice, Texas at the age of 70. He was born on November 8, 1945 to Gilberto and Cleotilde Gonzalez Chavera in Falfurrias, Texas. Mario worked various construction jobs before his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents and all of his brothers. Mario is survived by his wife, Ofilia Chavera; two sons, Juan Robert Chavera and Mario Samuel (Kristina) Chavera both of Falfurrias; five daughters, Marisa Chavera, Cleo (Sonny) Saenz, Christie Jo Chavera and Mandy Chavera all of Falfurrias and Liana Vasquez of Alice; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one grandchild on the way.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias. Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias.
