Lucia Mata de Romo, of Falfurrias, Texas, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018 at a hospital in McAllen, Texas. She was born December 13, 1926 to Leonardo Mata Gomez and Fortunata Contreras de Mata in Villa De La Paz, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Lucia married her husband, Juan Romo on July 11, 1953. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1970 and started serving as a regular pioneer in 1988.
Lucia is preceded in death by her parents; her husband and siblings. Lucia is survived by her brother, Patricio Mata of Reynosa, Tamualipas, Mexico; many loving nieces, nephews and her spiritual family.
Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Kingdom Hall in Kingsville, Texas.
