Jose V. Ruelas, Jr., 84, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011 at a nursing home in Falfurrias, Texas. He was born on September 14, 1926 to Jose V. Ruelas, Sr. and Arcadia Villarreal Ruelas in Falfurrias, Texas. Jose bravely served our country in the United States Army during WWII and later in life became a Campground Hunting Guide. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Natividad Ruelas, three sisters and one brother. Jose is survived by his son Joe (Mary) Ruelas, daughter Norma (Emilio) Escalante all of Encino, Texas, sisters Arcadia (Tom) Flores and Ninfa (Roberto) Perez all of Port Lavaca, Texas, two grandsons Joel and Javier Perez, four great-grandchildren Matthew, Joleigh, Annabella and Madaleina Perez, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended relatives who will all miss his humorous and lovable personality.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams with viewing beginning at 4:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias.
Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
