On Tuesday, January 26, 2021 our family sadly lost one of its strongest Pilars. Jose Angel Hinojosa fought till the end with his battle against heart and liver disease. He died peacefully in Laredo with his loving nurses at his side praying with him on his journey to heaven. Joey was a faithful friend to many, a proud member of the Zapata Wolf Pack, a singer, songwriter bass player, champion cook, devoted cousin, a cool uncle, an amazing brother, and a beloved son. Many will miss his kindness and we are so blessed to have shared our lives with our Joey Angel.
Joey is survived by his loving mother, Dora Hinojosa; his brother, Javier Alfonso (Jessica) Hinojosa, Jr.; two sisters, Julissa (Erik) Almaguer and Jenelle (Valerie)Hinojosa; nephew, Jaden Erik Almaguer, and nieces Charlotte Elizabeth Hinojosa, Evelyn Grace Hinojosa, and Adeline Joy Hinojosa.
He now reunites with his father Javier Alfonso Hinojosa, Sr. ✝ .
Funeral services for Joey will be on Monday, February 1, 2021. A Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Services will conclude with Burial at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
Closing with Joey’s own words:
In what measures do you judge a man? Is it his mistakes or accomplishments that make the difference? In my eyes I judge no one, I chose the ones I live with simply because they help me live...Jose Angel Hinojosa
