Jerry and Emma Doris were married on June 11, 1950. He had a great love for his family and home town of Falfurrias. Jerry was a man of integrity who believed in honesty, hard work and commitment. He exemplified these quantities at work and even more so in his commitment to his family. Family came first in Jerry’s life always. He was a loving and devoted husband to Emma for 58 years and a caring and very attentive father to his three children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren. Jerry was by nature kind and very generous. He had a great love for farming, raising cattle, bee keeping, fishing, hunting, working with his hands, building things, water skiing, and a great love for the sea.
Jerry served in the United States Marines during WWII and later worked as a plant operator throughout his life. He retired from Exxon Mobile in 1992.
Special thanks to all the wonderful caregivers, nurses on wheels, hospice nurses and aids and their home health care nurses and aids. A very, very special thanks to his guardian angels, who definitely earned their wings. LOL
