Gregoria Martinez

Gregoria Martinez, beloved wife and mother passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in Edinburg, Texas. She was surrounded by her loving family as she passed from this life to the arms of her Father in Heaven. Gregoria was born March 12, 1928 to Eloiso and Formosina Salinas. In 1955 she married the love of her life Quelfido Martinez. She dedicated her life to her husband and family. She was an excellent homemaker and cook and she never failed to offer a good warm meal to anyone who passed through her door.

Gregoria was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Quelfido Martinez, Sr., and an infant daughter. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jose Alie Martinez (Teffy), Maria Magdalena Pena (Rene) of Edinburg, Texas and Quelfido Martinez, Jr. (Edna) of Moore, Texas. Grandchildren Liza Raquel Zapata (Marco), Erica Enid Martinez, Amelia Lee Martinez, Jose Alie Martinez, Jr., Brenda Yvett Martinez, Victoria Elise Martinez, and Juan Esteban Maritnez along with ten great grandchildren, and her dedicated caregivers. Gregoria will be missed by all who knew her for her feisty spirit and generous heart.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday May 26, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Falfurrias.

Mass will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. Friday May 27, 2011 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Encino, with burial following at the La Mesa – De Luna Cemetery.
