Gabriel Lopez passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021 in Kingsville, Texas at the age of 62. He was born February 2, 1959 to Olayo Lopez, Sr. and Maria Elena Barrera Lopez in Port Lavaca, Texas. He worked for Brown & Root Industrial Services, LLC for over 20 years until his retirement. He was also a Carpenter and was always working or tinkering with something. He was an antique collector and he loved listening to Christian music. He had a strong faith in the Lord and knew his final destination would be Heaven.
Gabriel is preceded in death by his parents, Olayo and Maria Elena Lopez, and his brother, Jose Manuel Lopez.
He is survived by his companion, Aurora “Gody” Garza of Kingsville; two sons, Brandon (Sariah) Lopez of Dripping Springs, Texas and Gabriel R. (Julissa) Lopez of Port O’Conner, Texas; two daughters, Brucene Lopez of Goliad and Chelsea Lopez of Round Rock, Texas; stepdaughter, Jasmine L. Lara of Kingsville; five brothers, Mike Lopez, Onofre Lopez, Olayo Lopez, Jr., Roberto Lopez and Gilbert (Ruth Castillo) Lopez; three sisters, Diana Lopez, Sylvia (Wito Trevino) and Gracie (Reynaldo) Villarreal; eight grandchildren, Destiny, Chase, Torre, Lyric, Luna, J’Michael, Makailey, and Eduardo; one great-grandchild, Aalahni and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Gabriel left a few words of comfort for his family and friends: “I will see you in Heaven again! Amen.”
Pallbearers will be Brandon Lopez, Gabriel Lopez, Chase Lopez, Olaya Lopez, Jr., Robert Lopez and Gilbert Lopez. Honorary Pallbearer is Eduardo Rivas.
Due to the current ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, services are limited to 50 attendees.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams with Visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
