Esther R. Flores

Esther R. Flores, 92, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 in Hebbronville, Texas. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, in 1922 to Elizabeth Lawson and Juan Ramos. Mrs. Flores was a devoted wife and loving mother. A woman dedicated whole-heartedly to the role of homemaker all her life. She had a good life alongside her husband, the late Antonio Flores. Her battle with dementia was fought with value and dignity. Those who were at her bedside know that it was a most difficult Journey. Esther will be missed by those of us who loved her, unconditionally, but she is blessed to be going home to our Lord.

She is preceded in death by her beloved and devoted husband, Antonio Flores; son, Baby Flores; parents, Juan Ramos and Elizabeth Lawson Ramos; sisters, Thalia Schickt, Adelina (Q.) Gomez, Dolores (Raymond) Gomez; brothers, Johnny Ramos, Raymond (Maria Teresa) Lawson, Jessie (Elida) Herrera.

She is survived by her sons, Tony (Cristina) Flores of Hebbronville, Ruben (+Ana Lisa) Flores of San Antonio and Emeterio (Theresa) Carrieon, Jr. of San Antonio; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Alan) Garza, Joe Dan (Kim) Flores, Tony (Pilar) Flores, III, Mark Flores, Nickie Flores, Cristina (Joseph “Lucky”) Gastelum and Manuel Antonio (Melissa) Carrieon; great –grandchildren, Erin, Eric, Abby, Anissa, Grace, Thalia, Tony IV, Alexia, Grayson, Noah, Cristina and Ben; great-great-grandchild, Issac Flores and numerous nieces and nephews.

A little kindness goes a long way, and Esther had that kind of kindness from her dear friends, Panchita Lazusky and Minnie Herrera.

Appreciation is expressed from the family to Meridian Care Staff and Nurses and to Julie Gonzalez and the Entire Staff from Nurses on Wheels. Also to Doctor Gutierrez and Quality Care Ambulance Staff for the devoted and loving ways they all cared for our mother, Esther Flores.

Pallbearers will be Hector Ramirez, Tomas Ramirez, Rudy Almaraz, Arturo Carreon, Roldan Montalvo and Luis Garza.

Holy rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Hebbronville. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
