Estella R. Martinez passed away at a nursing home in Kingsville, Texas on August 27, 2020 at the age of 91. Estella was born June 12, 1929 to Macario Ramirez and Dora Longoria Ramirez in Encino, Texas. She received her education at La Gloria School. Estella married the love of her life Adan Martinez.
Her siblings are, one brother, Uvaldo (Eledina C. “+”) Ramirez “+”; six sisters, Hilda (Ruben “+”) Trevino “+”, Aveldia R. (David “+”) Escalante”+”, Delia (Baldemar “+”) Perez “+”, Hermelinda (Gilberto “+”) Martinez, Cecilia R. (Jose Rene) Chavana and Estefanita (Erasmo “+”) Chavana.
Estella is remembered as a loving person who cared for many family members throughout her entire life. She took great pride helping raise her twenty nieces and nephews and raised their children as if they were her own.
Estella also took great pride in raising Gracy R. Cothrin, a niece who she raised as her daughter and Joel Perez as her son.
Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Encino, with a Funeral Mass being celebrated at 11:00 a.m. that same morning. Burial will follow at La Mesa Cemetery.
