Elida S. Deleon

Elida S. De Leon entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the nursing home in Falfurrias, Texas at the age of 88. She was born on June 20, 1936, to Juan Salinas and Genoveva Herrera Salinas in Hebbronville, Texas. Lela as she was known to family and friends. Lela was a cook for many years.

She was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by her parents; husband, Robelin V. De Leon Sr.; son, Roel De Leon; brothers, Emilio Salinas, Amador Salinas and Amadeo Salinas Sr. and sister, Eloiza Vela.

Lela leaves behind to cherish her memories her sons, Robelin (Diana) De Leon Jr. and Gerardo De Leon both of Falfurrias; daughter, Rosa Maria (Virgil) Morrow of Kingsville; brothers, Cesario Salinas of Corpus Christi, Juan Manuel Salinas of Falfurrias and Jessie Luna of Kingsville; sisters, Tomasa Pena and Soila Salinas both of Austin; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Pallbearers will be Eric De Leon, Dylan De Leon, Albert Castellno, Tomas Castellano, Hector Mata Jr., and Ben De Leon.

Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias. Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
