Cipriano P. Arredondo entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at his residence in Falfurrias, Texas at the age of 90. He was born on December 13, 1931 to Francisco Arredondo and Rafaela Pena Arredondo in Falfurrias, Texas. Cipriano proudly served as a First Class Airman in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Evangelina Colin on February 8, 1958 and together they raised five children.
He earned his Bachelors and Master Degree in Education from Texas A&I University. His career in education spanned over 35 years and he held many positions. He began as a teacher at La Gloria School and continued to become a Principal, Special Education Director and eventually a Curriculum Director for Brooks County ISD until his retirement in 1996. He also taught Continuing Education at Texas A&I University.
He was the Mayor of Falfurrias for two terms in the 1970’s, a Eucharistic Minister at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus and he also served on the Board for Kingsville Area Educators Credit Union. He enjoyed playing golf, being outdoors doing yardwork and of course barbecuing with friends and family. He was a family oriented man with a great sense of humor, unselfish and loving. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to him and he loved being able to watch them grow up.
He is preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Jaime Joe Arredondo; daughter, Delma Ann Arredondo; brothers, Justino Pena and Ignacio Pena and son-in-law, Roberto “Roy” Regalado.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evangelina Arredondo of Falfurrias; one daughter, Graciela I. Regalado of Falfurrias; three sons, Mario C. (Lisa Rainey) Arredondo of Dallas, Texas, Michael R. (Kathryn) Arredondo of Corpus Christi, Texas and Jaime Joe Arredondo of Falfurrias; brother, Pedro Arredondo of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren, Gabriel R. (Ana Christina) Regalado, Robert R. (Jennifer) Regalado, Ryan R. Regalado, Jolie Justine Arredondo, Benjamin Michael Arredondo and Brenna Grace Arredondo; five great-grandchildren, Evan Royce Regalado, Sergio Roel Regalado, Giuliana Renae Regalado, Jaxon Robert Regalado and Liliana Marie Regalado; two step-granddaughters, Jasmyn Garcia and Kirsten Teague, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Pallbearers will be Eddie De Luna, Vince Lopez, Rick Martinez, Ozzie Munoz, Homer Salinas and Rene Salazar.
Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Services will conclude with Burial at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
